Covering Oxfordshire
Our bathrooms and en-suites service in Oxfordshire covers Oxford, Banbury, Abingdon and Bicester and more.
Homes in the South East
Housing across the South East mixes inter-war semis, post-war estates and older cottages in villages and market towns, so rear and side extensions, hip-to-gable lofts and garage conversions all come up regularly.
What goes into bathroom installation?
Most bathroom problems come from poor waterproofing and ventilation, so we tank wet areas, fit extraction that actually clears steam, and check water pressure before choosing showers. All electrics in bathrooms are done to the special-location rules.
- Design and layout
- Tiling, sanitaryware and brassware
- Extractor fan, lighting and heated towel rail
How much does bathroom installation cost in Oxfordshire?
Guide prices for bathrooms and en-suites, including VAT where it applies. Your fixed price is confirmed in writing after the survey.
| Bathrooms and en-suites | Guide price incl. VAT |
|---|---|
| En-suite or shower room | £5,500 to £10,000 |
| Family bathroom refit | £7,000 to £12,000 |
| Premium bathroom or wet room | £12,000 to £20,000 |
What approvals does bathroom installation need in England?
In England we deal with the council’s planning team for permission or a lawful development certificate, with building control (the council or a registered building control approver) for inspections, and with neighbours under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 where it applies.
Bathroom refits do not need planning permission. Electrical work in bathrooms is notifiable in many cases, and new bathrooms need ventilation that meets building regulations.
What can affect bathroom installation?
- Low water pressure limits the choice of shower; a pump or unvented cylinder may be needed.
- Wet rooms need a fall to the drain and full waterproofing.
What are the steps?
- Send us the details. Give us a postcode, a rough idea of size and some photos, by phone, form or the guide price tool.
- We visit and measure. A surveyor checks the house, the boundaries and the ground, and discusses what is realistic.
- Price and paperwork. The design is priced line by line, and we submit the planning and building control applications.
- Construction and completion. One site lead co-ordinates every trade through to the building control certificate.
Bathrooms and en-suites: common questions
Can you add an en-suite to a bedroom?
Yes, if a waste route to the soil stack is possible. A macerator is an option where it is not.
Do I need building regulations approval?
New bathrooms need extraction to meet the regulations, and electrical work may be notifiable.
Can you visit a house in Oxfordshire to quote?
Yes. After a short call we arrange a site visit to measure up and agree what the design needs to do, then send a written price.
