What does bathroom installation involve?
Most bathroom problems come from poor waterproofing and ventilation, so we tank wet areas, fit extraction that actually clears steam, and check water pressure before choosing showers. All electrics in bathrooms are done to the special-location rules.
- Planning and building regulations checks under Welsh rules
- Waterproofing (tanking) of wet areas
- Tiling, sanitaryware and brassware
How much should I budget for bathroom installation?
Use these ranges to budget for bathrooms and en-suites; the survey turns them into a fixed price for the agreed specification.

Do you need permission for bathroom installation in South Glamorgan?
Planning decisions in Wales are made by the local council, using permitted development rules set by the Welsh Government rather than England’s. Building regulations in Wales have their own approved documents, and the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 applies to work on shared walls and boundaries.
Bathroom refits do not need planning permission; building regulations rules for electrics and ventilation apply.
What can change the price or programme?
- Moving a toilet depends on the soil pipe route.
- Large-format tiles need flat walls, which may mean re-boarding.
