Re-roofing in Cornwall

Homeowners across Cornwall can get re-roofing from one company: the design, the council approvals and the building work.

Covering Cornwall

Our re-roofing service in Cornwall covers Redruth, Falmouth, St Austell and Truro and more.

Because Cornwall covers a wide area, we confirm availability after the first call and include any travel costs in the written quote rather than adding them later.

Homes in the South West

The South West mixes stone and render cottages, Victorian terraces in the larger towns and modern estates, and many historic centres are conservation areas where materials and roof shapes are closely controlled.

What do you get with re-roofing?

We erect scaffolding, strip the old covering, check and repair the timbers, then lay a breathable membrane, new battens and the new covering, with dry-fix ridge and verge systems. Fascias, soffits and guttering can be replaced at the same time.

  • Scaffolding and edge protection
  • Strip old covering and check timbers
  • Breathable membrane and new battens

How much does re-roofing cost in Cornwall?

Typical ranges for re-roofing. Ground conditions, access and specification move the final figure, which we fix in writing before work starts.

Re-roofingGuide price incl. VAT

Semi-detached house£8,000 to £15,000
Detached house£12,000 to £25,000

Do you need permission for re-roofing in Cornwall?

In England we deal with the council’s planning team for permission or a lawful development certificate, with building control (the council or a registered building control approver) for inspections, and with neighbours under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 where it applies.

Replacing a roof covering like for like does not usually need planning permission in England. Conservation areas with Article 4 directions and listed buildings are the exceptions.

What can affect re-roofing?

  • Bats can roost in roofs; if signs are found, work pauses for advice.
  • Insulation upgrades at the same time can cut heat loss significantly.

What happens after I enquire?

  1. Send us the details. Give us a postcode, a rough idea of size and some photos, by phone, form or the guide price tool.
  2. Survey at your house. We look at the existing structure, services and access, and agree what the design needs to achieve.
  3. Design and fixed price. You get drawings and a written price for the agreed specification before anything is ordered.
  4. Construction and completion. One site lead co-ordinates every trade through to the building control certificate.
