Re-roofing in Oxfordshire

We design and build re-roofing throughout Oxfordshire, with a fixed price in writing for the agreed specification and one point of contact.

Covering Oxfordshire

Our re-roofing service in Oxfordshire covers Oxford, Banbury, Abingdon and Bicester and more.

Homes in the South East

Housing across the South East mixes inter-war semis, post-war estates and older cottages in villages and market towns, so rear and side extensions, hip-to-gable lofts and garage conversions all come up regularly.

What goes into re-roofing?

We erect scaffolding, strip the old covering, check and repair the timbers, then lay a breathable membrane, new battens and the new covering, with dry-fix ridge and verge systems. Fascias, soffits and guttering can be replaced at the same time.

  • Roof survey and quotation
  • Scaffolding and edge protection
  • Breathable membrane and new battens

What will re-roofing cost?

Guide prices for re-roofing, including VAT where it applies. Your fixed price is confirmed in writing after the survey.

Re-roofingGuide price incl. VAT
Terraced house£6,000 to £10,000
Semi-detached house£8,000 to £15,000
Detached house£12,000 to £25,000

What approvals does re-roofing need in England?

In England we deal with the council’s planning team for permission or a lawful development certificate, with building control (the council or a registered building control approver) for inspections, and with neighbours under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 where it applies.

Replacing a roof covering like for like does not usually need planning permission in England. Conservation areas with Article 4 directions and listed buildings are the exceptions.

What can change the price or programme?

  • Neighbouring roofs on semis and terraces need careful junction details.
  • Insulation upgrades at the same time can cut heat loss significantly.

How does the project run?

  1. Send us the details. Give us a postcode, a rough idea of size and some photos, by phone, form or the guide price tool.
  2. We visit and measure. A surveyor checks the house, the boundaries and the ground, and discusses what is realistic.
  3. Price and paperwork. The design is priced line by line, and we submit the planning and building control applications.
  4. Construction and completion. One site lead co-ordinates every trade through to the building control certificate.

One to three weeks for most houses, weather permitting.
