Re-roofing in Sale

From the first site visit to the final building control sign-off, we manage re-roofing in Sale so you only have one company to deal with.

Covering Sale

Alongside Sale, we also cover Stretford, Urmston (2 miles to the north-west) and Old Trafford.

Homes in the North West

Terraced housing is a defining feature of many North West towns, which brings party walls and narrow access into most projects, with more space to extend on suburban semis.

What do you get with re-roofing?

We erect scaffolding, strip the old covering, check and repair the timbers, then lay a breathable membrane, new battens and the new covering, with dry-fix ridge and verge systems. Fascias, soffits and guttering can be replaced at the same time.

  • Scaffolding and edge protection
  • Strip old covering and check timbers
  • New tiles or slates, ridge and verge

How much does re-roofing cost in Sale?

Typical ranges for re-roofing. Ground conditions, access and specification move the final figure, which we fix in writing before work starts.

Re-roofingGuide price incl. VAT
Terraced house£6,000 to £10,000
Semi-detached house£8,000 to £15,000

Do you need permission for re-roofing in Sale?

In England we deal with the council’s planning team for permission or a lawful development certificate, with building control (the council or a registered building control approver) for inspections, and with neighbours under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 where it applies.

Replacing a roof covering like for like does not usually need planning permission in England.

What should I think about before starting?

  • Heavier tiles than the original can overload old rafters.
  • Neighbouring roofs on semis and terraces need careful junction details.

What happens after I enquire?

  1. Send us the details. Give us a postcode, a rough idea of size and some photos, by phone, form or the guide price tool.
  2. Free site visit. We measure up, look at access, drains and the structure, and talk through options and budget.
  3. Design and fixed price. You get drawings and a written price for the agreed specification before anything is ordered.
  4. Build and hand over. Our teams build to the programme, building control inspects, and you get the completion paperwork at the end.
