Kitchen extensions in Poole

Homeowners in Poole can get kitchen extensions from one company: the design, the paperwork and the building work sit with us rather than with three separate firms.

Covering Poole

Alongside Poole, we also cover Bournemouth, Wimborne Minster (5 miles to the north) and Swanage.

Homes in the South West

The South West mixes stone and render cottages, Victorian terraces in the larger towns and modern estates, and many historic centres are conservation areas where materials and roof shapes are closely controlled.

What goes into a kitchen extension?

We design the room and the kitchen together, so the island, sink and appliances line up with the structure rather than fighting it. You can use your own kitchen supplier or have us supply and fit one. Either way we co-ordinate the trades so the room is finished in one sequence.

  • Planning or permitted development check
  • Kitchen fitting, worktop templating and appliances
  • Tiling, flooring and decoration-ready finish

How much does a kitchen extension cost in Poole?

Indicative costs for kitchen extensions. London and the South East usually sit towards the top of each range.

Do you need permission for a kitchen extension in Poole?

Projects in England go through two separate checks. Planning (or confirmation that the work is permitted development) comes from the district, borough or unitary council, and building regulations approval comes from the council’s building control team or a registered building control approver. Where work touches a shared wall or digs near a neighbour’s foundations, the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 applies.

In England a single-storey rear extension can often go ahead under permitted development: up to 3 m deep on an attached house or 4 m on a detached one, no higher than 4 m, with eaves no higher than 3 m within 2 m of a boundary.

What can affect a kitchen extension?

  • Islands with sinks or hobs need drainage and power routed in the slab.
  • Extraction to the outside must be planned before the walls go up.

From first call to completion

  1. Tell us about the project. Call, use the guide price tool or send the form with a few photos and a postcode.
  2. Survey at your house. We look at the existing structure, services and access, and agree what the design needs to achieve.
  3. Price and paperwork. The design is priced line by line, and we submit the planning and building control applications.
  4. Build and hand over. Our teams build to the programme, building control inspects, and you get the completion paperwork at the end.

Can I use my own kitchen company?

Yes. We work to their drawings and co-ordinate delivery and fitting dates.

How long will we be without a kitchen?

Usually only the final few weeks, when the old kitchen comes out and the wall is opened. We can help set up a temporary kitchen.

Who deals with the council for a project in Poole?

We do. We prepare the drawings, submit planning or permitted development paperwork if needed, and arrange building control inspections.
